What is this medication used for​​​?

This medication contains 3 active ingredients: Betamethasone dipropionate, Clotrimazole and Gentamicin. It is a broad spectrum dermatitis treatment agent that helps alleviate symptoms of itching, redness and swelling, and possesses antifungal and antibacterial functions.

Betamethasone dipropionate is a topical steroid that has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vaso-constrictive actions, helping to relief redness, swelling and itching that is associated with skin or scalp ailments such as dermatitis or eczema.

Clotrimazole acts as an antifungal and is shown to be effective in treatment of various fungal related skin conditions such as tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis.

Gentamicin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that helps treat bacteria infection on the skin.

Dosage and how to use​

  • Follow the instructions on your medication label and use this medication as prescribed by your doctor. 
  • Before application, wash and dry the whole area to be treated.
  • A thin film of this cream should be applied to cover completely the affected and surrounding skin areas twice daily, in the morning and at night. For treatment to be effective, this cream should be applied regularly.
  • Duration of therapy varies and depends upon the extent and location of the disease.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after using the product and avoid contact with the eyes, mouth or nostrils. If the product comes into contact with any of these areas, rinse it off immediately with plenty of water.
  • ​Do not share the product with others even if they have similar signs and symptoms.

What are the possible side effects of this medication?

Everyone has different skin types and sensitivities, and any product can cause a negative reaction in some people. When you use this cream, start slowly at first and watch for these uncommon but possible side effects:

  • Burning, itching, irritation, redness, or dryness of the skin
  • Changes in skin colour
